Edith Ann Achorn, 78, of Jefferson, passed away on March 22 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta surrounded by family. Edith was born April 15, 1937 in Alna, the daughter of Irvin Spencer and Florence Weaver.
Edith graduated from Medomak High School in 1955. She met Paul Achorn in 1956 and they married on July 8, 1957 in Waldoboro.
After high school Edith worked at Sylvania and began a family. She took care of and raised the family which was her full time job.
Edith enjoyed dancing, playing board games, scratch tickets, cooking and collecting “Beanie Babies.” She was a very loving, opinionated and witty.
Edith is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Helen, Blanche, and Gloria; brothers, Richard and Robert; and grandson, Little Larry.
Edith is survived by her husband, Paul Achorn of Jefferson; sons, Larry Achorn and wife Cheryl of Waldoboro, Gary Achorn and girlfriend Connie of Washington, and Danny Achorn and girlfriend Susie of Jefferson; sisters, Irene Turner of Pittston, and Evelyn Winchenbach of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Gary Jr., Megan, Brandon, Heather, Jordan, Brittany, Morgan, and Miranda; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Thurs., March 31 at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro.
