Edith L. Arendt, 90, of Waldoboro, died June 12 at Brewer Rehab and Living Center in Brewer. She was born July 22, 1917 in Rockport, a daughter of Harry C. McDonald and Cornelia Spear McDonald. She grew up in Rockport and attended local schools. She graduated from Rockport High School.
She worked for doctors’ families as a housekeeper, nanny and lady’s maid in New London, Conn. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, cooking and embroidery. She loved animals and children. She was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church.
Edith was predeceased by her husband, Robert Arendt; a brother, Harold McDonald; and sisters, Peggy Johnston, Mary Jones and Alice Robbins.
She is survived by a cousin, Helen Pietila of Nobleboro; sister-in-law, Marie McDonald of Florida; and cousins and second cousins.
Graveside service 2 p.m., Wed., June 18 at the Amesbury Cemetery in Rockport.
