Edna Evelyn Roberts, 87, of South Thomaston, passed away peacefully at her home Aug. 14 after a long illness.
Born Sept. 18, 1921 in New Bedford, Mass., she was the daughter of Jon and Mary Ferreira Lima. She attended Wilfred Academy in Boston and worked as a hair stylist of many years. Later she moved to Maine with her husband Clarence where they ran a small diner, a lunch wagon and eventually built traps for many local lobstermen.
Her favorite pastimes were working on puzzles, going to bingo and playing cards with her many family and friends.
Edna is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clarence Roberts; daughters, Susan Moore and husband Keith of Cannon, R.I., and Linda Young and husband Robert of South Thomaston; son, Edward L. Roberts and wife Theresa of Rockland; four grandchildren, Tabatha Allen of Jefferson, Sherri Dodge of South Thomaston, Chris Dodge of Warren, and Irene Roberts of Skowhegan; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at a later date.
