Edna J. Easter, 86, of New Harbor, passed away on May 25 at her home. The daughter of Percy and Beulah (Roy) McDermid, she was born on Nov. 21, 1923 in Thurso, Que., Canada.
Edna retired from many years as a secretary in the late 80s. She was an active member of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by her husband, W. Kenneth Easter; as well as sisters, Marjorie and Hazel.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Easter; grandchildren, Emily Kelley and husband Chad, Ashley Ward and husband Isaac, and Luke and Jack Easter; great-grandchildren, Tucker Kelley, Tristan and Zachari Ward; sisters, Hettie, Eva and Phyllis; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Time of visitation 6-7 p.m., Tues., June 1 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Graveside service 1 p.m., Wed., June 2 at the New Harbor Cemetery. All are invited to the Easter family home in New Harbor to celebrate Edna’s life with the family following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
