Edward R. Mank Jr., 71, of Damariscotta, passed on to be with his Lord on June 6 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. He was born on Oct. 9, 1939 in Wiscasset, the son of Edward R. Mank Sr. and Frances (Lewis) Mank.
Edward had many things he was proud of, and loved to talk about in his life: Bath Iron Works, his carpentry skills, and hunting. Of the many things he accomplished, his years at Bath Iron Works were the ones he enjoyed the most. He loved to tell stories of the years he worked there, and the jobs he had done there.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching the Boston Red Sox, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Hooper the cat. Hooper gave him comfort and unconditional love during his lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife/companion for the last 14 years, Joan (Harrington) Mank; children, Edward W. Mank of Augusta and Robin Mank and her children of Greenville; brother, Richard Mank and wife Carol of Wiscasset; sister, Brenda House of Phoenix, Ariz.; step-children, Thomas Harrington of Wiscasset and Michelle Valliere and husband Curtis of Wiscasset; and grandchildren, Caitlyn and Dylan Harrington of Bath, Kayla Torgerson of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and David Andrew Valliere of Wiscasset.
At the request of Edward, there will be no services.
