Eileen Doyle Beilstein, 89, of Charlottesville, Va., passed away peacefully at home June 20 in the company of loved ones.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1921 in Norwalk, Ohio.
As a native of Ohio, Eileen lived in Norwalk, Sandusky and Cleveland. She spent her retirement years in Florida, Illinois and Virginia. She loved to play golf, was an avid bridge player and a talented artist, yet her friends and family knew her best as “the life of the party.” She was a talented Boogie Woogie piano player, and her passion for Big Band music kept her spirit active throughout her life. Her recent excitement with Wii sports donned her the title of “Bowling Queen.” She was extremely proud of her Irish ancestry and insisted that all her children were 100 percent Irish.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry John (Jack) Beilstein; father, James E. Doyle Jr.; mother, Hazel Doyle; sister, Marjorie; and brother, James.
Survivors include brothers, Richard and Devin Doge; sister, Mary Stahl; children, Doyle E. Beilstein and wife Sylvia of San Antonio, Tex., Cary D. Beilstein and wife Arlene of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, Bridget A. Arvold and husband Orrin of Charlottesville, Va. and Brady Nickerson and partner of Edgecomb; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Eileen Beilstein’s life will take place at a future date prior to her interment in Sandusky, Ohio.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Place, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
