Elaine Iris Chase, 69, passed away peacefully on July 26 with her loving children at her side.
Born on July 12, 1947, one of 14 children, she attended Woolwich Central School and Morse High School. She found fulfillment helping others and greatly enjoyed working for family planning and then local daycare centers. With her kind understanding approach she had a real gift connecting with children. She loved it when kids she hadn’t seen in 20 years would stop to say how much she meant to them.
Throughout the years she made a special family while working and visiting The Galley Restaurant conveniently located next door to “Creamerville,” the family home base for many years.
Elaine spent a lot of time outdoors with her rake “working the land,” composting and gardening. She was an avid putterer always staying busy. She loved music and loved to dance. Her family and friends were the most important things to her, she always wanted the best for them. Anyone who knew her well can attest to her loving thoughtful non-judgmental guidance that came with such ease.
Elaine was predeceased by her father, Perley Creamer; and siblings, Wendall Bennett, Polly Bennett, Hildreth Creamer, Flo Creamer, Letha Bennett, Byron Creamer, Libby Creamer, and Mike Creamer.
She is survived by son, Mike Chase; daughter, Sarah Chase; granddaughters, Danielle, Nicole and Hannah Chase; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Emma, Bentley and Nya; mother, Ruth Creamer; and siblings, Oren “Bubby” Creamer and wife Carol, Robert Creamer and wife Angela, Gary Creamer and wife Terry, Roland Creamer and wife Lynn, Joe Creamer and wife Laurie; very dear friend, Diane Barter Wright; and numerous other friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Elaine is well loved and will be immensely missed.
