Eleanor Fessenden Roelse Wesson, 89, died Jan. 24. She was born on Jan. 17, 1923, in Albany, N.Y., the second daughter of Harold Vincent Roelse and Katharine Sartelle.
From 1935 Eleanor was a summer resident of Southport, and from 1954 to 1992 she and her husband were summer residents of Bremen, first on Bremen Long Island until 1964, then on Oar Island. She actively participated in summer activities of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Newcastle, for several years, and she had numerous acquaintances in Bremen, Damariscotta, Wiscasset, Boothbay and Waldoboro.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Laurence G. Wesson, and elder sister, Elizabeth Roelse Heald.
She is survived by her children, Laurence N. Wesson of Blue Bell, Penn., Anne R. Wesson of Cumberland Center, Robert F. Wesson of Exeter, N.H., and John M. Wesson of Yarmouth; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
