Eleanor M. Kelly, 91, of Westborough, Mass., formerly of Sudbury, Mass., passed away peacefully on Aug. 3 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph V. Kelly who passed away in April.
Born in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Carol (Smith) Mann. She was educated in Staten Island and at the Edgehill School in Nova Scotia. Eleanor also graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. with a degree in Psychology.
Elly worked as an activities director and social worker at Sudbury Pines Nursing Center. She was also a self-employed potter for many years at her home in Bremen. In addition to her pottery, she created beautiful paintings and prints, and she also played the guitar and sang. She has been a resident of Westborough since 2013 previously living in Bremen and Sudbury.
She was also predeceased by son, Richard M. Kelly, who died in 2009.
Eleanor is survived by daughters, Ellen K. Linn of Worcester, Mass., Elizabeth K. Starr of Wiscasset, and Catherine K. Britt of Newport, N.H.; sister, Katherine M. Edmonds of Manchester; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside burial service for Elly at 11:30 a.m., Sat., Oct. 4 at the Central Cemetery in Randolph, Mass., where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Joe and son Rick.
