Elizabeth Ann Leach, 90, of Boothbay, passed away Nov. 17 at her home after a period of failing health. Ann, as she was known to her family and friends, was born June 14, 1919 in Long Branch, N.J., the daughter of Charles Henry Leach and Hazel Waterman Leach.
She grew up and attended schools in Red Bank, N.J. spending her summers in Trevett and later made Boothbay her permanent residence.
Ann was a businesswoman, an equestrian and thrived on the companionship of her many dachshunds and pugs. She was known as direct, thoughtful and generous.
Her brother Orin T. Leach, his wife Heddie and their son Charles predeceased her.
Ann is survived by Charles’ wife Gail of West Palm Beach, Fla.; cousins, Harry T. Leach of Boothbay, Elizabeth Leach Welch of Marshfield Hills, Mass., Burton Leach of Little Deer Isle, Susan Leach and Sally Leach Sewall of South Portland, Nancy Waterman Bruno of Manassas, Va., Lydia Waterman Pittius of Point Pleasant, N.J.; and godson, Charles “Sandy” Hance of Pottersville, N.J.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ann’s life 2-4 p.m., Sun., Nov. 29 at the Leach family home on Sawyers Island in Boothbay.
Arrangements are entrusted to Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
