Elizabeth “Betty” Kimmich, 79, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully after a long illness and declining health on April 8 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 10, 1933, the daughter of Albert and Ada Elwell of Waldoboro.
Elizabeth graduated from the Waldoboro High School and worked at Braggs auto parts in Orff’s Corner and married Lawrence Kimmich July 5, 1959. They lived in North Waldoboro for over 53 years.
She was a member of the Waldoboro Garden Club, The Snow Crawlers Snowmobile Club, and was a 4-H Leader for the Helping Hands 4-H Group for many years. She also enjoyed filling in at the various cafeterias throughout SAD 40. She always looked forward the Elwell family reunions every year. Her love of glowers and gardening showed with her flowerbeds and vegetable gardens.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ada and Albert Elwell; sister, Rose; and brother, Calvin Elwell.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence Kimmich of Waldoboro; daughter, Deborah Owens of Friendship; grandson, Zachary Owens of Waldoboro; nephew, Steven Elwell and wife Joy of North Whitefield; and niece, Susan, husband Willem Frederik of Florida and their sons Adam and Josh.
Celebration of life 1 p.m., Fri., April 12 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the ceremony at the Orff’s Corner Cemetery in Waldoboro.
