Elizabeth C. Banks (Betsy), 1938-2019, of New Harbor, and Stuart, Fla., passed peacefully in her New Harbor home on May 26, 2019.
Betsy and her beloved husband of 43 years, James E. Banks, raised their four children in Wilton, Conn.: Linda Anne Banks of Falmouth,, Kimberly Banks of Savannah, Ga., Kimberly Eaton of Cheshire, Conn., and George Eaton (Beth) of Trumbull, Conn.
Betsy was the adored Nana to her seven grandchildren: Emma Banks, Robbie and Ben Marshall, Maggie and Grace Eaton, James Trotman and Carly Nolan. She will be deeply missed by her surviving brother, Bob Colburn and his wife BJ of Old Lyme, Conn.
Betsy joins her parents, George and Ruth Colburn; her sister, Linda Collier Reilly; her parents-in-law, George and Katherine Banks; and other cherished family members and friends on this next part of her journey.
Betsy touched the lives of countless children with autism during the 20 years she worked at Cooperative Educational Services in Connecticut. She will be remembered most for her infectious laughter, devotion to family and the grace and perseverance she showed throughout her battle with MDS/ leukemia.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
