Elizabeth Cornwell Stetser, 102, of Alna, passed away Dec. 22 at a Brunswick hospital. She was the eldest daughter of Eppa Luther and Portia Smith Cornwell of Manassas, Va.
Elizabeth (Betty) was an active member of the Girl Scouts of America in Delaware County and Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sharon Hill, Penn. for more than 50 years. She spent many hours working with the Gettysburg Women’s League and other community organizations.
She moved to Alna in 1996. She was active in the Wiscasset Senior Center, the Wiscasset First Congregational Church and the Organ Society. In the past, she had been active in Grange, Lincoln Club and until the last few years, worked with the Miles Memorial Rummage Sale.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Elizabeth Stetser of Alna; grandson, Keith Andrew Haaf and wife Christina; and great grandsons, Derek Andrew Haaf and Davis Alexander Haaf, all of Batavia, Ill.
Memorial Service 11 a.m., Wed., Jan. 9 at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset with Rev. John Potter officiating.
