Elizabeth F. “Bette” Hilton, 91, of Waldoboro, passed away July 1, 2019 peacefully at the Sussman House in Rockport with her family by her side.
Bette was born in West Baldwin on July 23, 1927, the third child of the late Donald and Helen (White) Flint. She attended Fryeburg Academy and was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in home economics. In 1948 she married Gerald Waltz Hilton of Waldoboro, and they moved to East Longmeadow, Mass., returning to Waldoboro for their retirement years.
She was a member of the Waldoboro Woman’s Club and enjoyed knitting, quilting, her plants, and spending time at camp.
Bette is predeceased by her husband, Gerald; a sister, Mary Irwin, and a brother, Thomas Flint.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Hilton (and Byron Basque) of Waldoboro, and Margaret Hilton (and Donald Dorn) of Springfield, Mass.; son, Robert of Florida; a sister, Margaret Brown of Federal Way, Wash.; brother, Walter Flint of West Baldwin; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
