Elizabeth L. “Betty” Wallace, 78, of Waldoboro, died Jan. 27 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was born June 29, 1933 in Rockland to Frank and Geneva Phelps Elliott. She grew up in Rockland and Owls Head and attended local schools. She worked at various jobs during her lifetime. Her passion was working as a baker. She baked for several local restaurants over the years.
She was a member of the Waldoboro Senior Citizens. She loved going dancing in younger days all over the midcoast area. She loved being outdoors and working in her beautiful gardens. Spending time with her family was very important to Betty. She loved her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Benner; second husband, Earl Wallace; son, Edward Benner; sister, Patricia Elliott; and grandchildren, Kip and Laurie Stanley.
She is survived by her daughters, Naomi McPhee and husband Gerry of Waldoboro; Sandi Ballard and husband Art of Westport Island and Bonita Springs, Fla., and Sharon Brouillet and husband George of Orange, Mass.; son, Edward Benner and companion Jane Rytky of Thomaston; brothers, Dan Elliott of Owls Head, Barney Elliott of So. Thomaston, Richard Elliott of Denmark, Ken Elliott of Dresden, and Stan Elliott of Cushing and Estero, Fla.; sister, Sandra Dodge of Friendship and Bonita Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Joseph Brouillet of Northport, Elizabeth Watson of Northport, Rachel, Jeromey and Dezarae McPhee, all of Waldoboro, Angela Volkert of Cambridge, Mass., Valerie Giusani of Whitefield, Benjamin Benner, Jeremy Rytky of California, Jessica Benner of California, and Geneva Benner of Rockland; and great-grandchildren, Amanda Johnson of Whitefield, Hunter Brouillet of Massachusetts, Rusty and Raina McPhee, both of Waldoboro, Vince Volkert of Cambridge, Mass., Caleb Brouillet of Northport, Ava Chamberlin of Rockland, Felicity Rykty and Tate James Rykty, both of California, and A.J. Benner and Troy Benner, both of St. George.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Mon., Jan. 30 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Service to celebrate Betty’s life 11 a.m., Tues., Jan. 31 at the Hall Funeral Home. Pastor Thomas Rawley will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in the Back Cove Cemetery in Waldoboro.
