Elizabeth “Betty” Weston Kimmich, 97, born in Medomak on May 16, 1909, the daughter of Samuel H. and Sace Keene Weston, passed away at her son’s home on Oct. 29, surrounded by her loving family.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Lincoln Academy and the Gorham Normal School.
She was a teacher at the Back Cove, Orff’s Corner, and Feyler’s Corner schools in Waldoboro.
On Dec. 27, 1933, she married Otto Kimmich. After their marriage they moved to New Jersey, returning to Maine in 1963. Mr. Kimmich died in March of 1985.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers of Lincoln County, Order of the Eastern Star, Waldoboro Women’s Club, Patriot’s Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was predeceased by her loving husband; brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth and Phillip Weston; stepdaughter, Kathryn Copeland; and stepson, Raymond Kimmich.
Survivors include her sons, Lawrence W. Kimmich and wife Elizabeth of Waldoboro, and Robert F. Kimmich and wife Susan of Damariscotta and Greenville; granddaughters, Dawna K. Hannan and husband Mark of Greene and Nobleboro, Lora L. Rinow and husband Randy of Edgecomb, and Deborah Owens of Waldoboro; son-in-law, Raymond Copeland of Hackettstown, N.J.; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
Committal service 1 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 2 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, followed by burial in the German Protestant Cemetery, Rt. 32, Waldoboro.
Time of fellowship will follow the burial at the Broad Bay Congregational Church, Main St., Waldoboro.
