Ellen Katherine Woodbury Webber, 46, of Nobleboro, affectionately known as Kate and Auntie Kate, went home to the Lord on April 12 following a brief illness. She continued her life’s journey surrounded by family and friends.
Kate was born in Portland and was baptized at St. Andrews Church in Newcastle. Kate attended schools in Jefferson and Newcastle and graduated from Lincoln Academy in Newcastle in 1987. Kate also attended Husson College in Bangor and Midstate College in Augusta.
Kate had a great love for interior decorating. She enjoyed homemaking, cooking, and working with her mother in the cleaning business. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and auntie and enjoyed all family gatherings especially Christmas.
Kate was formerly married to Lucien Poulin and had a son Christopher, AKA “Chrissy,” who provided her the greatest pride and joy.
In April 2010, Kate married Robert Webber and made their home in Nobleboro. Katie found great pleasure in her church family at Waldoboro Word of Life. She enjoyed cooking for various church functions, participating in the church choir, and organizing onscreen scripture and song for the pastor and congregation.
Kate is predeceased by her mother, Caroline Miller Woodbury of Newcastle and Waldoboro; and sister-in-law, Patricia Woodbury of Newcastle.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Webber of Nobleboro; son, Christopher Nathaniel Poulin and companion Merissa Look of South China; father, Timothy Woodbury and companion Louise Simmons of Newcastle; in-laws, Merle and Marie Webber of Nobleboro; brothers, Brian and wife Mary Woodbury of Springfield, Va., Fred Woodbury and companion Sharon Wyman of Newcastle, and Kenneth Woodbury of Florida; sisters, Sarah Woodbury of Wisconsin, Cynthia Rivera of Pennsylvania, and Deborah Archer of Washington; and sisters-in-law, Dawn Trombly of Hollis and Erin Williams of Wiscasset; nieces, Megan Woodbury and Emily Woodbury, both of Jefferson; nephews, Nicholas Woodbury and fiancée Amber Ferland of Patrick AFB, Fla., Derick Woodbury, Tyler, and Cameron Wood of Newcastle, and Nathan Woodbury of Springfield, Va.; very close cousin, Jana Leighton and son Tommy of Damariscotta; and by numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thurs., April 17 at the Waldoboro Word of Life Church, 41 Old Route One, Waldoboro. A reception will follow at the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Waldoboro Word of Life Church building or missions funds.
