Elmer Eugene Kellett, 71, of Warren, died Nov. 20 with his family at his side at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Elmer was born in Warren on May 22, 1939, the son of Arthur and Eva Payne Kellett, and attended Warren schools. Leaving school early to help support his family, he eventually became a longtime employee with Stetson Auto Sales, working as a body man in their service department. He retired in 2001 after 38 years with the company.
He enjoyed tending his flower gardens, building rock walls on his property and doing home carpentry projects, like the gazebo he built, and taking snowmobile rides with his family. He also enjoyed feeding the wild birds and having goldfish. He and his wife enjoyed a trip to Nashville, Tenn.
He is predeceased by his sister, Susan Fogg.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Beverly Ann Kellett of Warren; children, Jackie Merrifield and husband Darrell of Waldoboro, Roger Kellett and wife Kathy of Hope and Adam Kellett of Warren; grandchildren, Racheal Spofford and Eric Spofford, both of Waldoboro; and brothers, Lawrence Kellett of Brunswick, Emory Kellett and companion Dot Merrifield of Liberty and Robert Kellett and wife Pearlette of Bath.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-7 p.m., Tues., Nov. 23 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Graveside service 2 p.m., Wed., Nov. 24 at the Cushing Cemetery, North Pond Rd., Warren.
