Elmer S. Heath, 60, of Jefferson, died June 6 at Maine Medical Center, Portland. He was born in Damariscotta July 6, 1949, a son of the late Harold R. and Dorothy (Weaver) Heath.
Mr. Heath worked in the woods for many years. He worked for over 13 years at Crowe Rope in Searsmont.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Roger H., Harold R. and Edward Heath.
Mr. Heath is survived by his companion of 31 years, Rosalie (Plantier) Basinet of Jefferson; her children, Cynthia Heath of Whitefield, Greg Basinet and companion Lori of Canaan, Jeff Basinet and wife Lisa of Jefferson, Debra Bailey and husband Scott of Jefferson and Michelle Prock and husband Eric of Waldoboro; their children, Matthew Basinet, Reggie Brann, Devan Basinet and Tyler and Codey Prock; brothers, Wayne Heath and wife Sally of Gorham, Michael Heath and wife Joyce of Augusta and Jason Heath of Augusta; sisters, Norma Weeks of Boothbay, Cherie Heath of Randolph, Holly Paul and husband Richard of Augusta and Lorna Peaslee of Augusta; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his beloved horses, Ginger and Cocoa; German Sheppard, Jennica; and two Chihuahuas, Sandy and Weenee.
Following cremation, a gathering of family and friends will be held 2-4 p.m., Mon., June 14 at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Rd. (Rt. 32), Windsor where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
