Emile A.P. Plante, 87, formerly of Madbury, N.H., died July 22 at the South Portland Nursing Home.
He was born in Somersworth, N.H. Aug. 15 1920, the son of Joseph and Ledia (St. Cyr) Plante and was a veteran of WWII having served in the Merchant Marines.
Emile was a self employed inventor, lobsterman and beekeeper. He loved being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juliette A. (LePage) Plante who died Aug. 9, 1994, and son Donald Plante.
He is survived by his children, David Plante of Eliot, N.H., Doris Smith of Newcastle, and Deborah Seavey of Scarborough; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One of 13 children, he is survived by several siblings.
There will be no calling hours.
Mass of Christian burial 9:30 a.m., Sat., July 26 in St. Joseph Church, Dover, N.H. followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Dover, N.H.
