Emily F. Johnson, 77, of South Bristol, passed away at her home on Jan. 25. She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. on Dec. 7, 1935.
Emily worked at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad for several years. It was there she met her husband, Wallace Johnson, who was working as a seismologist for an oil company. The couple would marry in Baghdad, and honeymoon in Beirut.
Emily and Wallace would live in many different locations before settling in Maine about 20 years ago. Upon moving to Maine, Emily went to work as a secretary for the Lincoln County Weekly for several years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Johnson, in 2002.
She is survived by sons, Derek Johnson of South Bristol, and Kevin Johnson and wife Laurence of France; as well as grandson, Aidan Johnson of France.
At the family’s request, all services will be private. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Old Oak Cemetery in Walpole.
