Ernest Fasano, 90, of Red Bank, N.J., died Oct. 18 at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Fasano was born in Waterbury, Conn. and lived in Red Bank, N.J. since 1946.
He graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. His legal career was interrupted by the outbreak of WWII. During the war, Mr. Fasano served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in India, where he worked to keep allied communication lines open over the Himalayan Mountains.
After the war, he practiced law in Monmouth County, N.J. at Quinn, Doremus, McCue and Russell, which is located in Red Bank, N.J.; and later at Russell, Fasano, Nicosia and Goodall, also in Red Bank, N.J.
Mr. Fasano was known to be a brilliant lawyer, as well as a gifted painter, poet and writer; but he will be most remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, whose home hosted many happy family gatherings.
Mr. Fasano was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth, and his son, Raymond.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Link and husband Fred of Middletown, N.J.; sons, Michael Fasano of Freehold Township, N.J., and Peter Fasano and wife Cheryle of Jefferson; sister, Inez Fasano; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation 7-9 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 19; and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Fri., Oct. 20 at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, N.J.
Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., Sat., Oct. 21 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, N.J. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, N.J.
