Etta Mabelle Wills, 93, formerly of Waldoboro, passed away Dec. 20 at the Amenity Manor in Topsham, where she had been a resident since May 2006.
She was born Sept. 11, 1913, in Bridgton, the daughter of Charles and Emma Libby Wheeler.
She was a graduate of Bridgton High School, class of 1931, and Dr. Leighton’s Training School for Nurses in Portland. She did private nursing until she got married.
She was a member of the Advent Christian Church of Bridgton, all of her life.
She married Albert Stanley Wills on Sept. 21, 1935, in Bridgton. They lived in Bridgton; Bath; Lorain, Ohio; Live Oak, Fla.; and Waldoboro.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Stanley Wills, in 2004; son, Clyde Wills in 1959; son-in-law, Roger Dever, Jr. in 2001; grandson, Michael Dever; daughter-in-law, Susan Wills; and great-granddaughter, Miranda Hope Dever.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Herrick and husband Arthur of Groveland, Mass., and Marilyn Lund and husband Francis of Gray; sons, Ronald Wills and wife Constance of Woolwich, and Harold Wills and wife Shirley of Greene; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a cousin from Florida and Illinois; a niece from Oregon; and a nephew from Waterford.
Memorial service 2 p.m., Wed., Dec. 27 at the Church of The Nazarene, 823 Gray Rd., Windham, Calvin Libby officiating.
