Eugene F. Peabody, 81, of Warren, died Feb. 10 at his home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1926, a son of Lealand and Blanche Fullerton Peabody. He grew up in Warren and attended local schools.
As a teenager he worked in the original Woolen Mill in Warren. He was a carpenter for many years, building many houses and making furniture. He loved making furniture for his family. He enjoyed hunting for Indian relics in Warren, bottle digging, collecting old double runner sleds so that he could fix them and bring them back to their original likeness, hunting, and fishing in the brook by his wood lot. He loved getting together with his family for special gatherings. He also loved bean tacos and Mexican fiestas.
He was predeceased by two infant sons, Brian and Gary Peabody.
He is survived by his wife, Floris Miller Peabody of Warren; sons, Greg Peabody and wife Kim of North Waldoboro, and Bradley Peabody of Warren; daughter, Pamela Read of Warren; brother, Norman Peabody and wife Mary of Warren; grandchildren, Justin, Ben, Alvin, and Lealand Peabody, all of Waldoboro, Walter Read, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Warren, Eric Read of Warren, Rebecca Chirillo and husband Daniel of Missouri, Hannah Read of Warren, and Levi Read of Warren; nephew, Roger Peabody and wife Linda of Warren; and great-niece, Kaye Peabody of Warren.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Tues., Feb.12 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
Funeral 1 p.m., Wed., Feb. 13 at the Warren Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Warren in the spring.
