Eugene U. Dubord Jr. (Gene), 72, of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly and went home to his Lord and Savior on Jan. 14.
Gene, the oldest of six children, was born in Bridgewater, Mass. on July 10, 1938, to Barbara and Eugene U. Dubord Sr. He grew up in Bridgewater, and spent the early part of his life there. He would eventually move to Maine, where he would spend the rest of his life. Gene was known as a man of many talents; a jack of all trades. He spent part of his life as a welder, truck driver, electrician, and working in plumbing and heating. He was a man who would always try to lend a hand to family, friends, or even a stranger in need. Gene loved spending time traveling to scenic places and spending time at the coast with his family. He was fond of hunting, fishing, model trains and planes, talking on the CB, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Gene was married three times in his life, and thus, had a large family. Gene was a father to seven children and stepfather to two more. At the time of his passing, Gene was married to Jacqueline Dubord. Gene and Jacqueline spent the past 21 years as loving husband and wife.
Gene is predeceased by his parents, Eugene Sr. and Barbara Dubord; son, Rene Dubord; mother-in-law, Margaret Short; ex-wife, Gloria Dubord; ex-son-in-law, Darryl McRae; Gene’s parrot “Winkie”; and other numerous relatives.
Gene is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Dubord of Jefferson; ex-wife, Eileen Plummer of Gardiner; children, Eugene U. Dubord III and wife Jeanne of Viroqua, Wis., Dwayne Dubord and wife Angela of Springfield, Ore., Catherine (Kitty to her loving father) Dubord of Las Vegas, Nev., Roswell Dubord and wife Roxanne of Waldoboro, Donald “Scott” Dubord and wife Melissa Kelley of Gardiner and Naomi Williams and husband Donald of Vassalboro; and step-children, Melissa Corrigan and husband Xeno of Sydney, and Cynthia Wiley and husband Bill of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; brothers and sisters, Barbara West of Hancock, Kathleen Shove and husband Leanord of Cameron, N.C., Bryce Dubord and wife Patricia of Waldoboro, Barry Dubord and wife Carla of Jefferson and Deborah Waldron and husband Dale of Windsor; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Gene was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew to many people. He loved, and was very fond of his family. He had many grandchildren: Roswell Jr., Amanda, Loralai, Brittany, Dustin, Dominique, Danielle, Eugene IV, Robert, Jonathan, Kimberly, Matthew, Heather, Justin, Misty, Dwayne Jr., Clarissa, Andrew; and many great-grandchildren, Alexander, Natalie, Brody, Ryan, Jessica, Rolan Jack, Sheyan, Taja, Mckenna.
Celebration of Gene’s life will be determined at a later date and a private burial will occur in the spring with the immediate family.
