Eunice P. Potter, 81, of Alna, died unexpectedly Jan. 9 at a Brunswick hospital after a short period of ill health.
Eunice was born in Parkman, the daughter of Clifford W. and Laura Eunice (Hatch) Parker. She attended Parkman schools and graduated from Newport High School.
Eunice married William H. Potter in Newport on April 7, 1951. For over 20 years Eunice was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier.
Eunice was a member of the Rural Mail Carriers Association, the Huntoon Hill Grange in Wiscasset, and GMC Nor-Easters R.V. Association. She loved to travel with her family in the motor home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and knitting for her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Richard L. Potter; sister, Mabel Bradford; and brother, Harold Parker.
Eunice is survived by her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” Potter of Alna; daughters, Barbara Watkis of Alna, and Pamela and husband Gordon Tibbetts of Alna; grandchildren, Angela and Joshua; great-grandchildren, William and Zachary, Rusty and Raina, great-great-grandchildren, Haley and Hope; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Eunice’s life 2-4 p.m., Sat., Jan. 19 at the Huntoon Hill Grange in Wiscasset. Burial will be at a later date in the Alna Cemetery.
