Evelyn A. Parker, 93, a resident of St. Andrews Village and longtime resident of Newcastle and Waldoboro, passed away Aug. 14 at her residence after a period of failing health.
Evelyn was born June 18, 1918 in Chicopee, Mass., the daughter of William and Mary Rygielski Kapinos, and was a graduate of Chicopee High School.
After graduating, she began working at the former Pondville State Cancer Hospital in Norfolk, Mass. as an administrative assistant.
She married Dr. George Parker and moved to Osterville, Mass. and then Newcastle and Waldoboro. She was a member of the Jefferson Historical Society.
She is predeceased by her husband, George Parker, and a brother-in-law, Nicholas Hamwey.
Survivors include her brother, Paul Kapinos and wife Frances of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; sister, Gladys Hamwey of Boothbay Harbor; stepdaughter, Catherine Parker of Centennial, Col.; and nephews, Jeffrey Kapinos and wife Cindy of Richmond, Va., James Kapinos and wife Lynelle of Fredericksburg, Va. and Brian Kapinos and wife Trish of Haymarket, Va.
A private celebration will be held at a later date.
