Evelyn Louise (Simmons) Dyer, 63, of Friendship, died July 18 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born, Feb. 24, 1945 in Waldoboro, a daughter of the late Maurice C. and Mary A. (Achorn) Simmons.
Mrs. Dyer was a graduate of the former Waldoboro High School, a member of the class of 1963. On April 30, 1966 she married Donald Dyer in Waldoboro. Over the years she was employed with Electrotech and Port Clyde Foods in Rockland; Royal River Packing in Yarmouth; and GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, gardening, dancing, playing cards, caring for her lawn, and decorating her house and yard for holidays.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dyer is preceded in death by a sister, Donna Turner.
In addition to her husband of more than 42 years of Friendship, Mrs. Dyer is survived by four sons, Dana A. Dyer and wife Lelia of Waldoboro, Daren A. Dyer and wife Bethany of Hope, Donald A. Dyer and wife Kelly of Warren, and Douglas A. Dyer of Warren; seven grandchildren, Gardiner Dyer, USMC, Paris Island, S.C., Danielle and Laura Dyer of Waldoboro, Natasha Dyer of Arrowsic, Casey and Eathan Dyer of Hope, and Cierra Dyer of Warren; six sisters, Pat Havener, Sandra Mank, Dianna Benner, Brenda Willey, Pam Simmons, and Andrea Bragg; two brothers, Virgil Simmons and Michael Simmons; special aunt and second mother, Winnifred Brazier; many cousins, nieces, nephews and an uncle.
Relatives and friends are invited to join her family for a graveside service 11 a.m., Mon., July 28 in The German Protestant Cemetery, Bremen Rd., Waldoboro.
