Everett W. Haines, 84, of Wiscasset, passed away Jan. 3 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, as a result of an accident.
He was born in Waltham, Mass., a son of Robert and Edna Morse) Haines.
He attended Waltham schools and graduated from Waltham High School in 1940. He attended Northeastern University and went on to be a First Lt. in the U.S. Army Air Corps. from 1942-1945.
Everett moved to Robinhood in 1945 and in January of 1949 married Patricia Ramsey. In 1984, he retired from Central Maine Power Company in Wiscasset after 33 years.
He was a member of Bradford-Sortwell-Wright Post #54 American Legion in Wiscasset, a lifetime member of the Waterville Beagle Club, and the National Rifle Association. Ev enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, animals and gardening, and some would call him a “gentlemen farmer.”
He was predeceased by one daughter, Karen Cossette on March 26, 2001; and sister, Elsie Fullerton in 1975.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Haines of Wiscasset; daughters, Patricia Connors of Woolwich, Wendy Goud and husband Ed of Wiscasset, Sheila Sawyer and husband David of Wiscasset, and Lorna Harrington and husband Dwight of Alna; 13 grandchildren, Warren Cossette, Beth Smith, Chris Cossette, Jody Connors, Gail Holbrook, Steven Connors, Tim Love, Duane Goud, Liza Libby, Jon Sawyer, Jillian Burke, Bob Sawyer and Brooke Harrington; and 14 great-grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Steven Smith, Maeve Blodgett, Kayla Cossette, Garrett Cossette, Matthew Holbrook, Mallory Holbrook, Dylan Love, Kayla Love, Alyssa Love, Briana Goud, Brandon Goud, Jada Libby, and Danielle Libby.
There will be no services.
