Faith Elizabeth Strain-LaVorgna, 65, of Waldoboro, died Jan. 11 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.
She was born Sept. 17, 1943 in Stamford, Conn., a daughter of the late Ernest E. and Annie A. (Scofield) Strain.
Over the years Ms. LaVorgna was employed with the Pond Point Nursing Home, Milford Motel and volunteered with the Salvation Army where she was a member of the Soldier League of Mercy. She also attended the United Methodist Church of Waldoboro. Ms. LaVorgna enjoyed listening to 50s music, cooking, shopping, singing, babysitting, country rides, and horses. She loved the family’s dog “Sassy”, and her cats.
In addition to her parents Ms. LaVorgna is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, Michael Strain of Waterbury, Conn.; two brothers and a sister of Carteret, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews of the Clark family of Killingsley and Danielson, Conn.
Relatives and friends are invited to join her family for a time of celebration for her life 10:30 a.m., Sat., Feb. 28 at the Penney-Papineau home at 3230 Winslow Mills Rd., Waldoboro. The Rev. Beverly Blaisdell will officiate.
