Flora Gertrude Jones, 84, passed away on May 7 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Flora was born Nov. 22, 1922 in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Walter and Pansy McCurda Trask.
She was a homemaker, and raised her three children and worked on the family farm with her husband.
Flora had a “green thumb” and enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, as well as growing many beautiful plants in her home.
She enjoyed reading and braiding rugs. She especially loved cats and other farm animals. Her favorite cat was named “Peter.”
She attended the South Somerville Baptist Church and was a member of the South Jefferson Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hartwell A. Jones.
Survivors include her daughters, Alice M. Bowman of Washington, and Marion E. Robinson of Gardiner; son, Ernest Hartwell Jones of Somerville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Cora Fisher of Hallowell, and Jeannette Vincent of Augusta.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Thurs., May 10 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
Graveside service 10 a.m., Fri., May 11 at Fairview Cemetery, Rt. 126, Jefferson, with the Rev. John Dancer officiating.
