Florence E. McLeod passed away April 13 at Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta. Florence was born March 14, 1903, in Ganaoque, Canada. She graduated from the Royal Victoria School of Nursing in Montreal, Canada. She married Harry James McLeod, MD in 1929. Shortly after their marriage, she moved to Englewood, N.J. where her husband had established a medical practice. Florence was very active in the community and was president of the British War Relief during WWII, covering Englewood and surrounding communities. In 1938, she and her husband purchased a home in Bremen and became part-time residents of that community. She recently resided at Schooner Cove, Chase Point and Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Her husband, H.J. McLeod and her two sons, David E. McLeod of Bremen and Ian C. McLeod of Bremen and Closter, N.J., predeceased her. She is survived by her daughters, Gail M. Clark and Carol M. West; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services will be private.
