Frances E. Jackson, 86, of Waldoboro, died July 9 at the Knox Center in Rockland. She was born Oct. 1, 1923 in Nobleboro, to Herbert Reddington Light and Aldena Eugley Light. She grew up in Nobleboro and attended local schools.
Frances married Ralph C. Jackson in 1940. Over the years she worked at the Medomak Canning Company, Paragon Button Factory, Arsenault Cleaners, Sproul Cleaners and lastly at Norge Laundrymat in Rockland as a presser. She was an active member of the Orff’s Corner Community Church in Waldoboro. She enjoyed dancing with her husband all over the state of Maine.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph C. Jackson of Waldoboro; daughter, Cleo Carter of Friendship; son, Larry Jackson of Waldoboro; sister, Muriel Tierila of Warren; grandson, Matthew Jackson of Saco; granddaughters, Alysa Jackson of Owls Head and Sarah Leeman of Bath; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 10 a.m., Wed., July 14 at the Orff’s Corner Cemetery in Waldoboro. Rev. Robert Bellows will officiate.
