Frances L. Bredeau, 82, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2019, at St. Andrews Village.
Frances was the eldest child of Sereno and Frances Brown. She grew up in Boothbay Harbor and graduated from the local schools and Gorham State Teachers College. Frances went on to teach school in Georgetown.
Frances was a caregiver not only to her own family but to others as well. Many who loved her referred to her as a lover and doctor of strays be they people, pets, or plants. She was selfless and a collector of “everything,” which she was more than willing to share with anyone in need of her special finds.
Frances was well known in the area for her avid letter writing, especially letters to the editorial section of the local paper. She loved to sing, cook, and tell stories. Her ability to create beautiful works of art from nature she handed down to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Frances was predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard L. Bredeau; sister, Eldora Bredeau; and son, Sereno Joseph Bredeau.
She is survived by her son, Richard A. Bredeau; and daughters Frances I. Warner, and Selina M. Reid; brother, Sereno Brown Jr.; sister, Rebecca Darden; granddaughter, Amanda Warner Bussiere; grandson, Nathan Warner; grandson, Dylan Bredeau; granddaughter, Morgan Bredeau; great-grandchildren, Emily Warner, Nathan Warner Jr., Colin Bussiere, and Frances Bussiere; and many, many beloved nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 22 at 4 p.m. at the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club and Anchor Church located at 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor.
