Frances M. “Fran” Bowman, 66, of North Waldoboro, died July 11 at her home. She was born Feb. 3, 1943 in Everett, Mass., a daughter of Elmer and Audrey Doherty. Fran grew up in Massachusetts until the age of 16. She moved to Maine and married David Bowman on Dec. 1, 1962.
She was a homemaker. She loved to sew and knit. She was a member of the Quilting Guild. She made many Rosaries and beads for her family and friends. She recently enjoyed aquasizing at the fitness center. She was a devoted Catholic all of her life.
She was very fond of all her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David E. Bowman of Waldoboro; daughters, Denise Bowman and significant other Kevin Laukka of Waldoboro, and Stacie Miller and husband Lance of Waldoboro; sons, Leon Bowman of Waldoboro, David Bowman, Jr. and wife Kelly of Waldoboro, and Tracie Bowman and his significant other Stephanie Rogers of Waldoboro; brother; three sisters; several nieces and nephews; and grandchildren, Jonathan Libby, Malcolm Libby, Allen Bowman, Erick Bowman, Arrin Bowman, Jacoby Miller, and Desiree and Zoey Rogers, all of Waldoboro.
Visitation for family and friends 1-2 p.m., Thurs., July 16 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Graveside service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. at the Shuman Cemetery in Waldoboro. Rev. Robert Bellows will officiate.
