Francis L. Brewster, Jr., 71, of Waldoboro, died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on July 9.
Born in Rockland, Oct. 26, 1937, he was the son of Francis L., Sr. and Elizabeth Moon Brewster. Educated in Rockland, Mr. Brewster left school to enlist in the U.S. Army. While serving, Mr. Brewster earned his G.E.D.
Following his discharge from the Army, he moved to Wallingford, Conn. where he resided for more than 30 years. There he was employed as a supervisor with Automatic Fasteners in North Brainford.
Mr. Brewster was an avid reader and regularly attended Temple Heights Spiritual Camp in Northport. His love of boating led him to become an active member of the U.S. Power Squadron in Rockland in 1996.
Mr. Brewster is survived by his sons, Daniel Brewster and wife Kimberly, and Francis L. ‘Roy’ Brewster, III and wife Pamela; daughters, Linda Gargaly and husband Stephen, Jr. all of Wallingford, Conn., and Julie Fazzino and husband Joseph of Southington, Conn.; sister, Edith Lawler of Chelmsford, Mass.; brother, Richard Brewster of Rockland; brother-in-law, Carl Wooster of Rockland; half-sister, Helen Marriner of Rockland; grandchildren, Randy Kopylec, Mathew Gargaly, Jeff Fazzino, Courtney Fazzino, Daniel Brewster, Devyn Brewster, Joseph Fazzino, Michael Fazzino, and Tylor Brewster; as well as great-grandchildren, Sullivan Adams, Gavin Kopylec and Noah Kopylec.
Family and friends visited July 12 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. Graveside celebration was July 13 at Ash Point Cemetery in Owls Head.
