Frank E. Waltz Jr., 59, of Jefferson, passed away March 24 at The Alfond Center for Health-Maine General with his family by his side. Frank was born on Oct. 25, 1955 to Frank and Kathleen (Weaver) Waltz Sr. He attended local schools, graduating from Lincoln Academy in 1975.
In 1979, Frank married Laura Foster. They had three children together and enjoyed raising their family in Jefferson.
Frank had been employed with the DOT as a laborer. He then went on to work for the USPS delivering mail, and worked for Maine Yankee as a security officer. Frank then became an equipment operator, driving trucks. Frank currently owned and operated his own butcher shop and fallow deer farm.
Frank enjoyed tinkering and keeping busy with many different projects. He also enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his children and granddaughter grow. He was such a proud Grandpa and would do anything for his family. Frank was also an assistant Boy Scout leader and assistant baseball coach while his children were growing up.
Frank is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura Waltz; brothers, Arthur and wife Bonnie Waltz of Jefferson, Ira Waltz of Portland, Dana Waltz of Dresden, and Harlow Waltz of Jefferson; children, Frank E. Waltz III of Jefferson, Nancy and husband Andrew Corson of Jefferson, and Donald Waltz of Jefferson; sisters-in-law, Lyndell Brackett of Newcastle, and Bertha and husband Ricky Voisine of Connecticut; granddaughter, Kaila Mae Corson of Jefferson; and many other family and friends.
A memorial service and gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tues., March 31 at the American Legion Wells-Hussey Post 42, 527 Main St., Damariscotta.
