Frederic C. “Teddy” Farr Sr., 78, of Windsor, died May 26 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta after a brief illness. He was born in Gardiner on Oct. 9, 1936, the son of Cecil Farr and Ella (Cox) Farr.
Mr. Farr grew up in Manchester, graduating from Cony High School.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army as a medic from Jan. 1956 to Oct. 1957.
Prior to his retirement, he was owner and operator of a trucking company for 18 years. He was previously employed by the Town of Windsor as a bus driver for nine years, and he was a self-employed poultry farmer for several years. Fred enjoyed all of the seasons by snowmobiling and riding motorcycles with his friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Withee) Farr; and sister, Charlotte (Knight) Rafford.
Surviving are his children, Betty A. Farr of Windsor, Cherrie F. Plummer and husband Nick Plummer of Windsor, and Frederic C. Farr Jr. and wife Susan of Vienna, Ohio; brothers, Thomas Farr of Scarborough and Wayne Knight of Richmond; grandchildren, Tony Sciarra, Kristen Sciarra, Kayla Farr, Nikki Farr, Tyler Farr, Josh Farr, and Sydni Plummer; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may visit from 3-4 p.m., Sat., May 30 at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Rd., Rt. 32, Windsor. A celebration of Mr. Farr’s life will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Friends Cemetery, Manchester.
