Frederic Walter Smith, 58, of Linden, Tenn., passed away Oct. 10 at his family home in Jefferson, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was born in Hohenwald, Tenn. on June 26, 1948, the son of Clayburn (Sr.) and Eleanor Francis Smith.
He attended school in Jefferson and Lincoln Academy, leaving school to serve in Vietnam from July 23, 1969-July 22, 1971. He received his G.E.D while serving in the Army and continued his education in nursing.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very thankful for the love and support from his uncle, Tom Jones and Marcia and Maynard Prock.
He was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Schoppee.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diannia Smith of Jefferson, and Linden, Tenn.; daughters, Wendy D. Emory of Linden, Tenn., and Francis I. Runions of Hohenwald, Tenn.; grandsons, Tra ‘on Cooper of Linden, Tenn., and Dalton Alley of Hohenwald, Tenn.; granddaughter, Chesney Runions of Hohenwald, Tenn.; father, Harry Schoppee of Jefferson; and brothers, Clayburn Clinton Smith, Jr. of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Dana Schoppee of Jefferson.
At Fred’s request, there will be no services.
