Gary Caldwell, 53, died unexpectedly at his home in Boothbay on April 11.
He was born in Gardiner and spent his younger years living in Randolph. He was one of five children born to Charles and Beverly Caldwell. He spent the later part of his life living in the Boothbay area.
Gary was many things: he was a fisherman, a hunter, a lobsterman, and a friend to countless people. He deeply loved the ocean.
He is survived by one son, Charlie; daughter, Oceana; mother, Beverly Johler Caldwell; sisters, Jean Matmor of Florida, and Nancy Caldwell of Augusta; brother, William Caldwell of Concord, N.H.; and his life partner, Norma Weeks of Boothbay.
Gary will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. May he now be in peace!
A memorial service was held on April 22 at the Gardiner Congregational Church.
