Gayle Griffin, 63, passed away on Feb. 1 after a battle with cancer. She was born May 25, 1947 to Marjorie and Wallace Page in Gardiner.
She attended Gardiner School, dropping out in 8th grade to help on the family farm and assist with raising her brothers.
Gayle and Paul Griffin were married for 34 years when Paul passed away two years ago.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She liked to cook, making large meals for her family on holidays. She enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She looked forward to Beano with her best friend Sarah and her daughters once they were old enough to go.
Gayle worked in nursing homes over the years as well as clamming with her husband Paul. She and Sarah had a seafood business for many years, picking crabmeat, clams, shrimp meat and scallops.
Gayle loved spending time with her grandchildren – making sure they had what they needed.
Gayle was predeceased by her husband, Paul Griffin and grandson, Ian Sanborn.
She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Page of Richmond; brothers, Buddy Page of California and Elwin Page of Richmond; children, Troy Call of Gardiner, Sue Ann Call of Waterville, Paul Griffin and partner Laura Sanborn of Waldoboro, Pearl Ward of Hallowell and Elizabeth Griffin and partner Fred Pinkham of Waldoboro; and grandchildren, Love Call, Abigail Griffin, Dylan Carlson, Jared Pinkham, Shelby Ward and Isaac Ward.
Funeral service 6 p.m., Sun., Feb. 13 at the Broadbay Church, Main St., Waldoboro. Potluck social gathering in the downstairs of the church immediately after service.
