George H. Manning, 83, of Topsham, died July 16 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born in Cambridge, Mass. on April 22, 1923, a son of Harold and Doris Logue Manning. He attended local schools and MIT, where he studied Mechanical Engineering, and worked in that capacity most of his life.
He married Noel Temple Martinson on Nov. 30, 1996. They moved to Topsham in 2001, coming there from Edgecomb.
Mr. Manning served his country faithfully in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was a member of the Manning-Manse Association where he had served as its president, and also served on the Planning Board for the Town of Edgecomb. George enjoyed woodworking and loved dogs.
He is survived by his wife of Topsham; two stepdaughters, Janice Neal of Greenville, N.C., and Nancy Meekins of Falmouth, Mass.; and brother, Richard Manning of Saco.
There will be private services held at the convenience of the family.
