Geraldine R. Andrews, 80, of Boothbay Harbor, died at her home on Feb. 20 after a long illness. Born on May 21, 1929 in Boothbay Harbor, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Frances Reed. Gerry grew up in Boothbay Harbor and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School.
Gerry married her high school sweetheart, Philip D. Andrews, in 1948 and they were married until his sudden death in 1985.
Gerry was a loving mother and grandmother. She was known for her caring generous and nurturing personality.
Gerry is survived by a son, Dennis P. Andrews and wife Marie of Boothbay; daughters, Victoria A. Bell and husband Sumner of Edgecomb, and Charlotte M. Bailey and husband Glenn of Pittston; brother, Eugene Reed of Boothbay; sisters, Jeannette Giles of Boothbay, and Priscilla Stevens of Litchfield; sister-in-law, Estella Pinkham; grandchildren, Melissa Morton and husband Ernest of Boothbay, Andrea Lowery of Trevett, Samantha Hill and husband Jeffrey of Palm Bay, Fla., and Patrick Bailey and girlfriend Jennifer Peaslee of Damariscotta; great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Jacob Morton of Boothbay, Taylor and Adam Lowery of Trevett, and Justin Bailey of Damariscotta; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service 11 a.m., Sat., Feb. 27 at the Boothbay Harbor United Methodist Church. Pastor Carol Stevens will officiate. Reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Boothbay Harbor.
