Gerard A. Charest, 91, of Wiscasset, died July 8 at Winship Green.
He was born Jan. 1, 1916 in Notre Dame Des Bois, Quebec, son of Edmond and Lumina Poisson Charest.
Gerard retired from Bath Iron Works after 28 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bath.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Richardson Charest; sister, Bertha Ayotte and husband Gerald; sons, Leo and wife Lynn of Aurora, Col., and Richard Charest of Wiscasset; daughters, Simonne Burns of Milford, N.H., Christine Sonia and husband Joe of Wiscasset, and Rachel Stinson and husband Delmar of Woolwich; stepchildren, James Hall and wife Leola of Poland, and Janice Parvin of Gorham; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne Bilodeau of Augusta; four brothers; eight sisters; and stepson, David Hall.
Memorial Mass 10 a.m., Tues., July 17 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bath.
