Gerard Patrick “Rod” Gorman, 90, of Boothbay Harbor, died July 20 at the Maine Veterans Hospice Unit at Togus.
He was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Clifton, N.J. to Gerard Gorman and Lucille Colca Gorman. Rod attended the University of California, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutgers University, Chaffey Community College, Appraisal Institute, and the University of Southern Maine. He was a veteran serving in the Marines during the Korean War.
Rod worked for over 40 years as an industrial engineer, real estate appraiser, counselor, instructor, realtor and assessor. Rod has resided in Boothbay Harbor since 1995. He was a member of the American Legion Post #36 in Boothbay Harbor.
He was predeceased by sister, Joan Billack; and brother, Ross Gorman.
He is survived by wife, Ruth Anne Gorman of Boothbay Harbor, and the rest of his family, children and grandchildren who are all scattered around the country.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd. in Augusta at 10 a.m., Tues., July 24.
