Gladys R. Dorr, 75, of Addison, died unexpectedly on Nov. 10 at her residence. She was born Aug. 31, 1935 in Dresden, the daughter of the late Otis L. and Evelyn L. (Lemar) Carver.
She attended Brighton Academy in Dresden and married Warren W. Dorr Jr. of Wiscasset. She and her husband owned and operated the Warren W. Dorr Jr. Bait Co. since 1960.
She was a family woman and loved cooking, spending time with her family, socializing with her friends, making people laugh and her favorite dog Wanda.
She is predeceased by her husband Warren Dorr Jr.; brothers, Otis Jr. and Bruce Carver; beloved son and mamma’s boy, Warren “Ikey” Dorr III; and best friend Camille Morris.
She leaves many special friends including Beverly Anderson of Harrington, Sonya Huntley of Ellsworth and Jan Goudey of New York.
Gladys is survived by daughter, Debra Murphy and husband Michael of Addison; brothers, Ronald Carver of Safford, Ariz. and Teddy Carver and wife Karen of Lisbon Falls; sisters, Martha Bracket-Wilson and husband Mark of Bristol, Pearl McInerney of Bristol, Penn., Mary Lou Herter and husband Howard of Ellinwood, Kan., Doreen Twist of Bristol, Penn., Donna Chamberland and husband Gerard of Lewiston and Melody Wilhelm of Kansas; sisters-in-law, Pricilla Fogg and husband David and Gert Blagdon and husband John, all of Wiscasset; grandchildren, Andrea Joyce of Columbia, Krystal Dorr of Franklin, Jennifer Murphy of Spring River Lake, Warren “Ren” Dorr IV and Ethan Dorr, both of Addison; and great-grandchildren, Kylee and Kameron Joyce of Columbia.
Family and friends are invited to call 2-6 p.m., Sun., Nov. 14 at the Bragdon Kelley Funeral Home in Milbridge. Services 1 p.m., Mon., Nov. 15 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, Addison.
