Gloria I. Brewer, 75, of Edgecomb, died Oct. 19 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was born Jan. 19, 1937 in Boothbay to Amos and Phyllis Barter.
She graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in the class of 1956. She worked as a nurse’s aide for many years, working along side Frances Rule, and spent many years with Edna Buzzell. She was a long time active member of the Boothbay Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Amos Barter Jr. and Paul Barter; and sisters, Edith Giles, Beatrice Blake, Evangeline Morgan and Dorothy “Dot” Barter.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Brewer of Edgecomb; son, Robert Brewer and wife Sarah of Edgecomb; daughter, Tamara Rother of Boynton Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Andrew Brewer and wife Krystal of Gorham, Allison Brewer of Boothbay, William Brewer of Newcastle, Nicole Stone and husband Jack of Yuma, Ariz., and Danielle Rother of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and siblings, Marjorie Lewis and Robert Barter.
Service to celebrate Gloria’s life 1 p.m., Wed., Oct. 24 at the Boothbay Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay.
