Gloria M. Goud, 86, of Dresden, passed away on Sept. 30 in Freeport at the Hawthorne House after a long fight with Alzheimer’s.
Gloria was born to Clyde and Lela Dodge Perkins on Sept. 14, 1930 in Bath. She graduated from Bridge Academy in Dresden in 1948. Gloria married Calvin E. Goud of Dresden on Jan. 8, 1949. Gloria worked as the manager at Mikes Log Cabin in Wiscasset for several years. Gloria had many joys in her life such as hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the babies and held them dear to her heart.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Calvin E. Goud; daughter, Linda Goud Chapman; sister, Dorothy Perkins Atkinson; and brother, Elwood Perkins.
Gloria is survived by son, Edward C. Goud of Wiscasset and wife Wendy; son-in-law, Paul Chapman Sr. of Dresden; brothers, Clyde Perkins Jr. of Dresden, and Keith Perkins of Dresden; grandson, Paul Chapman Jr.; granddaughters, Laurie Chapman Trask and husband Douglas Trask, and Liza Goud Libby and husband Daniel; grandsons, Anthony Chapman and wife Janie, and Duane Goud and wife Tricia; and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Sat., Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery located on Blinn Hill in Dresden.
