Grace B. Kensell, 84, of East Boothbay, died Feb. 2 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor. She was born Jan. 11, 1925 in Damariscotta, a daughter of James Barnes and Ethel Hagen Barnes. She graduated from Lincoln Academy in Newcastle.
She married Wallace “Bud” Kensell in 1944. They moved to Pittsfield, Mass. where Grace worked as a computer programmer for General Electric for over 34 years. They retired in 1981 and moved to East Boothbay. She loved to knit, crochet, fish and go boating. She was liked by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by a son, Wallace Kensell Jr.; and brothers, James Barnes and Morrill Barnes.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wallace “Bud” Kensell of East Boothbay; daughter-in-law, Linda Kensell of Cambridge; grandchildren, Katie McKnight of Pittsfield, Mass., and Amy Carr of Chittenden, Vt.; great-grandchildren, Lydia McKnight of Pittsfield, Mass., and Gavin McKnight of Pittsfield, Mass.; sister, Pauline Powell of Damariscotta; and several nieces and nephews.
