Grant Walton Wheeler, 67, of Christmas Cove and Ocean Ridge, Fla., passed away unexpectedly Nov. 12 with his family at his side.
He was the son of the late Lois and Mark Chapman Wheeler formerly of Needham, Mass., and the husband of Jane Pitcher Wheeler.
A graduate of Deerfield Academy, the University of North Carolina, and the Episcopal Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, he was the founding principal of Stock Market Index, Inc. and most recently Portfolio Manager and Senior Advisor of Duquesne Capital Investments.
He was predeceased by his brother Mark Chapman Wheeler Jr.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Longstreet Wheeler of Sherman Oaks, Cal., and Scott Wheeler of Woodland Hills, Cal.; two stepsons, William Ackerman of Marblehead, Mass., and Robert Ackerman of Andover, Mass.; stepdaughter, Elisabeth Dufault of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; sister, Ann Wheeler Burgess and husband Russel of Mystic, Conn.; brother, David Chase Wheeler of Natick, Mass.; sister-in-law, Pam Wheeler Mitchell of Barrington, R.I.; brother-in-law, Donald F. Pitcher and wife Shirley of Hingham, Mass.; eight loving grandchildren, Molly, Caroline, Billy, Megan, Justin, Leo, Lindsey, and Mark, to whom he was affectionately known as Grandy, G-man, and Hobson; numerous nephews and nieces; and wonderful friends from all aspects of his life.
Service in his memory 11 a.m., Sat., Nov. 22 at the United Church of Christ, River Rd., Newcastle.
